Eggs have been portrayed as the symbol of birth, life, and rebirth for thousands of years. They have also been immortalized as jewelry by goldsmith Peter Carl Fabergé. It is only recently, however, that they have been made into kaleidoscopes. Frank Casciani began egguery in 1990, after retiring from the military. Egguery is quite simple, using real eggs to create objects of art. No birds are harmed to pursue this art form, and only infertile eggs are used.
