Chromoscopes

David Kalish has been active ion both the visual and performing arts all his life. Since starting his company Chromoscope in 1992, David has produced thousands of scopes of many descriptions. Realizing that a kaleidoscopes will spend most of its "lie" in repose, David approaches his designs as sculptures. He believes the observer should not necessarily recognize that the piece functions as a kaleidoscope. "When that element is discovered," he says with a smile, "the 'ooh's' and 'aah's' are as rewarding as a standing ovation. But I think the work should be as captivating and alluring from the outside as from within."
