Henry Bergeson

A gentle glow of grandeur shines through each kaleidoscope designed and engineered by Henry Bergeson. The Care and love he puts into each scope can be felt as well as seen in the smoothly sensuous well-polished hardwoods he selects for his innovative pieces of art.

Studying and working on old boats in New England dominated Henry's early years. Then in 1979, he set sail with his father from Norway to Maine in a forty-two foot 1905 yawl. The voyage ended in disaster when their vessel was mortally damaged six hundred miles south of Iceland. He and his father were rescued, but the boat was left to drift off into the fog. This catastrophic experience changed Henry's outlook on life. From then on, conformity and the rigors of corporate life loomed inconsequential, and a more relaxed and individual hands-on type work became his focus.
